• Thursday, May 16 • KC Design Center Open House The Kansas City Design Center will host an open house at 5:30 p.m. at 1018 Baltimore Ave., Kansas City, Mo. This will be the community’s chance to see the final results of the center’s year-long study of the Northeast. Million Dollar Movie Check out North-East Public Library’s “Million Dollar Movie” at 10 a.m. at the library, 6000 Wilson Rd. Each month the library presents some of the best in classic cinema for your viewing enjoyment, all for free. • Friday, May 17 • Story Time and Craft Join North-East Public Library, 6000 Wilson Rd., for its weekly story time and craft at 10:30 a.m. This story time group promotes literacy in children with the participation of caring family members. This week’s theme is “Teeth.” • Saturday, May 18 • Director’s Hard Hat Tour Take an extended hard hat tour of Corinthian Hall, the more than 100-year-old home of lumber baron Robert A. Long and his family, with Kansas City Museum Director Christopher Leitch. Visitors will see Corinthian Hall in mid-renovation, the bare interior of the building exposed for the first time in decades.
