Saturday afternoon just after 1pm, officers were called to the area of Troost Avenue and E. 1st St in regard to a medical nature unknown. Upon arrival, officers located a victim in a small, wooded lot, an adult male, suffering from apparent trauma. KCFD EMS responded and declared the victim deceased.
Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Personnel responded to the scene and processed the scene to recover any evidence and have speaking to potential witnesses.

Later in the Sheffield neighborhood, Saturday evening just after 7pm, Kansas City, Missouri Police Officers responded to the area of 7th and Bennington Avenue on the report of a hit and run injury collision. The investigation revealed that an elderly female pedestrian had been crossing the street and was struck by a red unknown type vehicle that was traveling north on Bennington. After striking the pedestrian, the vehicle fled the scene, continuing north on Bennington.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.
