Friday evening at about 9:20 Kansas City, MO Polie Officers were called to the area of Independence Aveue and Cleveland on a shooting call. Upon arrival, officers located two victims, an adult male and an adult female. The male was conscious and the female was unresponsive.

Officers rendered aid and summoned EMS to the scene. EMS transported the male victim to the hospital for treatment of what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries. EMS declared the female victim deceased at the scene.

While officers were investigating the shooting they were notified by dispatch of a third victim, an adult male, that arrived a short time after the shooting at 14th and Bennington Ave. He told officers that he had been shot at the 3700 block of Independence Ave location. That third victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of what is thought to be non-life threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigation indicates the male victim located at the scene had an interaction with an unknown suspect on the sidewalk near the street there. That interaction escalated and the suspect fired shots striking all 3 victims. There is no additional suspect information at this time.
