The Kansas City VA Medical Center (KCVA) is now offering walk-in COVID-19 vaccinations to enrolled veterans.
According to the KCVA Medical Center Director, David Isaacks, the vaccine team has expanded vaccine availability to all veterans and made receiving a vaccination even more convenient.
“We have opened all future vaccine clinics to walk-ins for all enrolled Veterans of any age,” Isaacks said. “Appointments are still highly encouraged to guarantee a vaccine dose, but KCVA will provide vaccinations to eligible Veterans on a ‘first come, first served’ basis if they walk-in to one of our vaccine clinics.”
This week’s first-dose vaccine clinics are both at KCVA’s Honor Annex, 4251 Northern Ave, Kansas City, MO 64133: Tuesday, March 16 from Noon to 7 p.m. (Pfizer) and Thursday, March 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Pfizer).
Veterans can call 816-922-2619 to schedule a vaccination appointment.
“We have administered more than 25,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses to date and during this week’s Honor Annex clinics we have another 1,200 vaccine doses available for area Veterans,” Isaacks said.
Veterans must be enrolled in VA health care to receive a COVID-19 vaccination through KCVA. If a Veteran is not sure of his/her eligibility status, please call 404-828-5257 to check eligibility or enroll by telephone.
“Our healthcare professionals are currently managing first dose vaccinations of Janssen, Moderna and Pfizer, along with implementing second dose vaccinations every week,” Isaacks said. “This is no small task, and we are one of just a few VA facilities administering all three vaccines approved for use in the United States. We are working hard to #reclaimthesummer.”
