Friday, Nov. 8, Kansas City University (KCU) announced its new partnership, which will assist Rockhurst University students transition into a post-grad medical program.
In a press release, KCU announced 40 Rockhurst students will be selected to join the accelerated pathway for KCU’s graduate programs. Starting in the fall 2025 semester, these 40 students will be made up of undergraduate students. The cohort will be made of “25 students for the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) program, 10 for the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) program and five for the Master of Health Science – Anesthesiologist Assistant (MHS-AA) program,” according to the release.
Students will begin their collegiate journey in the Rockhurst undergraduate program. After receiving their degree, students that meet the program requirements will transition directly into their respective KCU graduate program.
The KCU press release cites partnership goals as, “Increase the number of qualified health care professionals in the community, provide clearer pathways to medical and health science careers and strengthen collaboration between institutions.”
