Our summer interns have been hard at work already, thanks to a generous grant from the Missouri Press Association. We’re pleased to introduce them to our community, starting with Corbin Smith. If you see him out and about, make sure to say hi!

Corbin will be a junior Mass Media: Sports Media major at Northwest Missouri State University in the fall of 2021. He works for the university’s newspaper, The Northwest Missourian, as a Sports Reporter and will be the Opinion Editor in the upcoming school year.He applied to be an Editorial Assistant Intern at the Northeast News to broaden his knowledge of the news side of journalism and wants to become a better writer overall.

Corbin graduated from North Kansas City High School in 2019. He enjoys living in Kansas City because of the diversity and multitude of things to see and discover. Outside of reporting, Corbin is a track athlete at Northwest and enjoys working out and encouraging his teammates to be the best version of themselves.
