Independence Boulevard Christian Church is inviting the community to attend their church this Sunday for worship and a delectable luncheon.
Christian Church is calling it “Friends Day” and is encouraging its congregation to invite friends and neighbors to attend its services.
“We want to nourish their bodies and their souls,” said Diana Graham, chairman of the deacons at Independence Boulevard Christian Church.
Sunday morning worship begins at 10:45 a.m. and the luncheon will immediately follow. Lunch is free, but the church is asking for love offerings.
Lunch will feature hamburgers, hot dogs and smoked ham and turkey.
Friends Day will be a time for hanging out, fun and fellowship, Graham said.
“Our church has been in Northeast for about 125 years, so we’re not going anywhere,” she said. “We’re trying to let them (new church attendees) know we’re going to continue to be a part of the community and we’d like them to become a part of our community.”
Bilingual English/Spanish services are held every Sunday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Independence Boulevard Christian Church is located at 606 Gladstone Blvd., Kansas City, Mo.
