Those wanting to eradicate blight in Northeast will now have a chance to do so through Kansas City’s volunteer codes inspector training.

Area residents can sign up as volunteer inspectors to notify the city about property code violations, which allows the city to address problem properties sooner. To simplify the process, volunteers will be assigned to specific neighborhood blocks.

A free training session for interested individuals will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, at the North-East Public Library, 6000 Wilson Rd., Kansas City, Mo.
