This week’s Face of Northeast is Sierra Faust, who recently joined the team at Mattie Rhodes Center. She will be working as an Americorps VISTA with Scott Wagner and the Northeast Alliance Together (NEAT) for the next year with the goal of developing a job skills and career development program for residents of the Historic Northeast.
“I love the cultural diversity of the neighborhoods, the beautiful historic architecture, and the number of parks and scenic areas,” Faust said.
Although she currently lives a few miles away in Independence, she lived in Northeast Kansas City for a year and a half and developed a strong connection to the area over that time.
Her favorite restaurant in the Northeast is San Antonio Carniceria y Tortilleria. She also loves having Cliff Drive so close by for cycling.
“I think the residents and small businesses in the Northeast have so much to offer Kansas City as a whole and deserve opportunities for greater economic development,” Faust said.
