This week we spoke with Jacqueline Florez, assistant center manager at CSL Plasma on Independence Avenue.
“I love the diversity of the community,” she said. “I’ve been here almost twelve years and I like being able to help out members of the community through plasma donations.”
Florez grew up in the Historic Northeast neighborhood, so working at CSL Plasma is like a homecoming of sorts.
During the coronavirus outbreak, blood and plasma donations are critical, making Florez’s job even more important given the extreme shortages noted at area blood and plasma banks.
“Now is the time people need to come in and donate. We can really use your donations so that we can find a cure for this virus that’s going around.”
