This lil’ pooch thanks the city crews for stepping up after last week’s blizzard paralyzed most of Kansas City.
By midmorning Wednesday, most main arterial streets were in very good condition.
Residential side streets were in good shape later that day and continued to improve as the temperature rose and plow crews continued to clear traffic lanes.

Federal officials are now conducting a criminal inquiry in regards to the breach of contract civil suit filed by civic leader and former employee of Kansas City University of Medicine and Bioscience (KCUMB) Karen Pletz against KCUMB.
According to a Jan. 5 filing, Kansas City’s U.S. attorney’s office requested the Jackson County Circuit Court judge to hold off on the discovery proceedings.
Since the filing details are sealed, it leaves this lil’ pooch wondering who the investigation is aimed at: Pletz, KCUMB or both.

This lil’ pooch is still dismayed about the preponderance of motorists who, even after almost two years of its existence, still can’t seem to navigate the Benton Circle.
As a lil’ refresher, if you are in the circle, don’t stop. You have the right-of-way.
Vehicles attempting to enter the circle must yield to the traffic already in the circle.
This really isn’t that tough to figure out, folks.
But, given the number of street signs that used to be planted in concrete near the circle that have been knocked to the ground by errant drivers, we’re thinking the problems will continue in the foreseeable future.

Valentine’s Day is next Monday and this lil’ news-hound is looking forward to some sweet chunks of heart-shaped kibble.
The folks at City Market will be offering free weddings again this year with a sweetheart theme.
Not sure if the honeymoon involves Winslow’s BBQ or Bo Lings Chinese, but either way it should be a fun day at the market.
