Snow is melting all over the neighborhood and yes, folks, it’s time for the potholes to start showing through the melting ice and snow.

Some areas along Independence Avenue or 12th Street are already starting to resemble moon-scapes along the outside edge of the paved lanes. Some of these holes can be over three feet in length and some two-to-four inches deep, wreaking havoc on tires, wheels and suspensions.

With more warm weather on the way, it’s certain more of these gaping maws will be visible. Given it’s election season, we’re wondering which candidate will seize the potholes as a platform issue.

The Northeast Vikings Alumni Association N-Club has been busy of late. After soundly beating Central High in basketball, the team and the N-Club received high praise for not only playing well, but for how the team looked in their new uniforms, courtesy of the Alumni Association and the N-Club. This news pooch is darn skippy about the ongoing high level of support Northeast athletes receive from alumni. Long live the Purple and White!
