Community crime meetings
Community members are continuing to meet every Wednesday at noon at the North-East Public Library, 6000 Wilson Rd. The group brings neighborhood safety concerns together and forwards them to the police department. All are welcome.

 

Teen Hip Hop Academy
Every Wednesday beginning at 4:40 p.m., Jeremy and his crew from Hip Hop Academy host this free event at the North-East Public Library, teaching creativity to youth through the positive elements of Hip Hop culture. Teens will learn dance and DJing. For more information, contact Shirl at the library (816) 701-3485. North-East Public Library is located at 6000 Wilson Rd.

An Affair of the Arts
Kansas City, Missouri, School District invites you to attend a scholar showcase, “An Affair of the Arts,” which will feature a variety of performances by KCMSD students on Thursday, March 10. The event is an inaugural fundraiser for the KCMSD Education Foundation. Art viewing and sale will be held at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. The showcase begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $75. To sponsor a table of 10, cost is $1,000. The event will be held at the Kansas City Marriott, Muehlebach Tower, 200 W. 12th St.

Knights of Columbus Monthly Breakfast
Knights of Columbus will hold its monthly breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Hall at St. Anthony Church, 3208 Lexington, Kansas City, Mo. Menu includes biscuits and gravy, potato casserole, scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage patties and other goodies. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 8 to 12.

The Indian Mound Neighborhood Association will meet at the North-East Public Library, 6000 Wilson Rd., at 6:30 p.m.

 

Corned Beef & Cabbage Dinner
The VFW Auxiliary 9997 is hosting a corn beef and cabbage and reuben sandwich dinner on Thursday, March 17, from noon until ? at 6801 Wilson Rd., Kansas City, Mo. A bake sale will also be held. Corn beef and cabbage dinner is $5 and reuben sandwiches are $2.50.

 

40th Annual St. Joseph Table
Holy Cross Parish Hall invites the public to attend its 40th Annual St. Joseph Table Friday, March 18, at 5106 St. John Ave., Kansas City, Mo. The public is also invited to lunch and dinner Saturday, March 19, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Donations are accepted and carryout dinners are $3 each. Proceeds will benefit various church ministries.

 

Holy Rosary’s St. Joseph Table
Holy Rosary invites the public to view its St. Joseph Table Friday, March 18, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Scalabrini Hall, 910 Pacific Ave., Kansas City, Mo. Cookies and cannolis will be for sale. There will be a free pasta and Milanese lunch Saturday, March 19, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Scalabrini Hall. Donations are accepted and carryout is $5. Homemade cookies, pastries and cannoli will also be for sale. Donations will be used for charity.
