Hard Hat Happy Hour
Take a self-guided tour of Corinthian Hall, the more than 100-year-old old home of lumber baron Robert A. Long and his family. Visitors will see Corinthian Hall in mid-renovation, the bare interior exposed for the first time in decades. Visitors will examine 100-year-old craftsmanship, see the ornate salon and library and view the exquisite stained glass windows. Tour members must wear closed-toed shoes and children must be accompanied by an adult. Tour will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Kansas City Museum. Cost is $5. Advance registration required. Join North-East Public Library for its weekly story time and craft at 10:30 a.m. This story time group promotes literacy in children with the participation of caring family members.

Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser
The Police Athletic League and the Kansas City Elite Competition will host a pancake breakfast fundraiser from 8 a.m. to noon at the PAL Center, 1801 White, Kansas City, Mo. Cost is $5 per plate. Proceeds will go toward helping youth participate in summer track and field.
Oral History Workshop
Check out the Kansas City Museum’s Oral History Workshop, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $15. Learn how to conduct and record oral histories from family and friends. Led by archivist David Jackson, workshop participants will also learn the nature and uses of oral histories, compose sample questionnaires and practice the process of taking oral histories.
Eighth Annual Military Collectors Fair
Area private collectors of rare military artifacts from conflicts that span the ages will share their treasures with the general public. Dozens of displays will be located in the J.C. Nichols Auditorium Lobby at the National World War I Museum from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during this once-a-year event. No buying, selling or trading of artifacts is permitted. This event is included with admission to the Museum and free for members.
Computer Basics
Learn more about getting around on your computer in this class, which offers insights into hardware and software components. The class will be held at 10:30 at North-East Public Library.

First Sunday Family Fun Day
Check out the Kansas City Museum’s First Sunday Family Fun Day from noon to 4 p.m. Learn about the early settlement of the Town of Kansas, which later became Kansas City. You’ll learn about the Town of Kansas’ first newspaper, the “Kansas City Ledger,” through experimenting with print-making and explore how people communicated using Morse code and so much more! It’s all free at the Museum, 3218 Gladstone Blvd., Kansas City, Mo.

Scarritt Renaissance Meeting
Scarritt Renaissance Neighborhood Association will host its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Kansas City Museum, 3218 Gladstone Blvd., Kansas City, Mo. (This is a new time for the meetings). In addition to following up on last month’s planning session, Micah Kubic, program officer with Greater Kansas City Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), will give an update on LISC activities in the community and Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce President Bobbi Baker Hughes will update attendees on the status of the Northeast Community Improvement District (CID).
