Hispanic Chamber Swearing-in Ceremony
Join Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for its 35th Anniversary Celebration of the swearing in of the 2012 Board of Directors. The event will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Lathrop & Gage, LLP, 2345 Grand Boulevard, Suite 2800, Kansas City, Mo. Board members will be sworn in at 6:30 p.m. Chamber members and a guest are free. Non-member cost is $20.

Join North-East Public Library for its weekly story time and craft at 10:30 a.m. This story time group promotes literacy in children with the participation of caring family members.

Live music at Eleos Coffee
Eleos Coffee House, 3401 Independence Ave., Kansas City, Mo., will have live music beginning at 7 p.m. Featured band is Run Little Rabbit, a three-person string band from Kansas City, Kan.

Wounds that Heal Art Exhibit
Newhouse domestic violence shelter will host a fundraiser from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Leopold Gallery, 324 W. 63rd St., Kansas City, Mo. Enjoy a night of art, healing and hope! The event will include hope-inspired artwork by local artists, poetry, a silent auction and refreshments.  A $10 donation is suggested. VFW Steak Dinner
Check out VFW Post 9997, 6801 Wilson Rd., for a steak dinner from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Cost is $12 per person. Proceeds will be used to assist with paying for the hospitality room at the state convention.

KC Museum Community Curator program
Visit Union Station, 30 W. Pershing Rd., at 6 p.m. and learn about Wheatley-Provident Hospital. The presentation is part of Kansas City Museum’s Community Curator Program. Learn about this iconic building, its founder Dr. Perry and the many people who worked and were treated there. A reception will precede the lecture at 5:30 p.m. There is no cost to attend.

Documentary film at North-East Library
North-East Public Library, 6000 Wilson Rd., will be showing a documentary about an immigration raid at 5:45 p.m. The documentary will be shown in Spanish and all are invited to attend. Cost is free.
