Take a hard hat tour of Corinthian Hall, the more than 100-year-old home of lumber baron Robert A. Long and his family.  Kansas City Museum, 3218 Gladstone Blvd., Kansas City, Mo., will now host the free tours on Thursdays at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

First Sunday Family Fun Day
Join the Kansas City Museum, 3218 Gladstone Blvd., for its First Sunday Family Fun Day from noon to 4 p.m. The event is free. Learn about Kansas City’s earliest settlers and explore Kansas City’s early trading history by learning to trade for supplies at the trading post. Make your own bead and seed jewelry, listen to Native American songs in the StoryTarium and more!

Scarritt Renaissance Neighborhood Assoc. Meeting
Plan to attend the Scarritt Renaissance Neighborhood Association meeting at 6 p.m. at the Kansas City Museum, 3218 Gladstone Blvd. The group will plan for the coming year, as well as discuss how to develop a useful communication system between the neighborhood and police. KCPD Community Interaction Officer Jason Cooley will be in attendance. The agenda also includes updating the bylaws/election ratification and other items of business.

Black-Owned Funeral Homes in Jackson County
Join the Kansas City Museum and explore African American history in Kansas City funeral services. Lee Ward, director and owner of the Museum of Funeral History in Independence,  will take you through 150 years of black funeral history. Ward will explore the cultural, spiritual and family differences between black and white funeral services, as well as explore Kansas City’s pioneering African American undertakers and funeral homes, including T.B. Watkins and the Adkins, Kerford and H.B. Moore Funeral Home. A reception before the presentation will start at 6 p.m. The presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Central Library, 14 West 10th St.
