Budd Park and the surrounding area will soon look a little cleaner. Indian Mound Neighborhood Association is hosting an area-wide clean-up from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 21. Attendees should meet at Budd Park.

Two compactor trucks will be available and area residents are encouraged to drop off leaves, brush, tires and regular household trash items for disposal at the south side of Budd Park along Budd Park Esplanade.

“We need all the volunteers we can get,” Indian Mound President David Remley said.

Indian Mound will furnish work gloves, trash bags, water, lunch and prizes. Remley said the clean-up crew of volunteers will focus on Budd Park and the surrounding area.

Volunteers will also do graffiti abatement on light and power poles and Kansas City Parks and Recreation will target other graffiti spots. Commercial and private property owners are encouraged to abate their graffiti at that time. Equipment and anti-graffiti products will be available. For more information, call (816) 896-9305.
