Above is a look at the Christopher S. Bond Bridge. Cathy Morrison, MoDOT

Starting at 7 p.m. Friday, June 15, both directions of Interstate 29/35 from route 210/Armour Road in North Kansas City to Front Street in Kansas City will be reduced to one lane.

Work crews will replace temporary pavement on the north end of Christopher S. Bond Bridge and will make repairs in the center lane of southbound I-29/35 spanning the railroad yard south of 16th Avenue.

Weather permitting, the work will end at 5 a.m., Monday, June 18, and will continue the next weekend, June 22-24.

Motorists are strongly recommended to seek an alternate route or expect delays.

“We appreciate the motorists patience in this matter because we did have to go in and replace the temporary pavement with a more permanent solution, but the project is almost complete,” Missouri Department of Transportation representative Jennifer Benefield said.

Some recommended alternate routes across the river are Route 9 across the Heart of America Bridge or the Broadway Bridge.
