The Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney charged Brenda C. Brown on Jan. 4, with three criminal counts, including Assault in the First Degree, for running down a woman with her vehicle and fleeing the scene.

According to the police statement, a man and his wife were shopping at the Apple Market on Independence Avenue on Jan. 1, when they became involved in a verbal altercation with a black female who reports later indicate was Brown. The man and his wife walked away from the argument. Following the argument, Brown was on a cell phone “ranting and raving.” According to witnesses, Brown stated to her caller, “I feel like killing her” in reference to the man’s wife. Brown then got into her vehicle and drove, deliberately striking the female victim, causing her life-threatening injury.

Brown’s bond has been sent at $250,000 cash.
