The Northeast Vikings Boys Soccer team’s season came to a close on a cold, rainy Tuesday night when they fell 3-1 to Oak Grove in the first round of the Class 2-A playoffs.
Head soccer coach Jim Conaway said that despite several goal scoring opportunities, the boys just couldn’t overcome the Oak Grove defense.
“We had a number of shots on goal but just couldn’t seem to put the ball in the goal net,” Conaway said.
The team finished the season with an outstanding record of 24 wins, three losses and one tie, the best in school history.
“I’m just as tickled as I can be with these boys,” Conaway said. “This was a great year for Vikings soccer.”
