KANSAS CITY, Missouri -The City Planning Department has released an updated rendering of the new development slated for the vacant lot at Independence and Prospect Avenues.
The initial renderings were met with opposition from some neighborhood residents, who noted a lack of historic character and no area for the fallen firefighters who died on the site on October 12, 2015. The revised designs show a roughly 38,000 square foot development with seven retail spaces and a large corner space that could house a food establishment or larger retails space.
We’ll have additional information tomorrow after we speak with Ashley Winchell, the planner assigned to the project, and MAC Corporation in Blue Springs, the General Contractor working with property owners BA Properties LLC.
