BREAKING— Just after 5 p.m., Dec. 10, the Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) was dispatched to the 100 block of N. Lawn Ave., on a reported shooting call.

Upon arrival, KCPD officers located an adult male — who was later identified as Jaylen Andrews — experiencing several gun shot wounds near the doorway of an apartment building, according to a release received from KCPD Media Unit, Friday.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived to the scene and transported Andrews to a local hospital, suffering life-threatening injuries.

Thursday afternoon, Dec. 26, KCPD assault detectives received notice that the 26-year-old’s fatal injuries had resulted in death, Yesterday at a local hospital, according to KCPD Media Unit.

Homicide detectives with KCPD continue to investigate this case.
