Police remain on the scene of a crime scene in the parking lot of the plasma center at 6000 Independence Avenue.

According to KCPD, officers were initially dispatched to a location in the 1800 block of Brownell near KCU. A male in his 40s had been on a moped and had been shot. The victim gave officers a couple of possible crime scene locations, one on Brownell and another at the plasma center.

The victim has been taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
