Want to know where the mayoral candidates stand on certain issues?
Two mayoral forums are coming up on Jan. 25 and Jan. 27 and all are welcome to attend.
The first forum will be hosted by the Kansas City Regional Transit Alliance (KCRTA) from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Jan. 25, at the H&R Block City Stage Theater in Union Stations.
Kitty McCoy, KCRTA chairman, will serve as master of ceremonies.
Each mayoral candidate will be given 30 minutes to answer questions posed by KCRTA board members and the public. Candidates will be asked to share their views on developing a regional mass transit plan and how they plan to make transit a part of their platform.
“The open interview format allows for each candidate to voice their perspective in a non-threatening environment,” McCoy said. “We are very excited to hear from the candidates and hope the public and stakeholders will join us for this unprecedented event.”
The University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) will host a city council and mayoral forum Thursday, Jan. 27, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the UMKC Pierson Auditorium, 5000 Holmes St.
All mayoral and district candidates have been invited.
