Cooking Competition. The KSHB-TV news staff stepped away from the news desk long enough to see if they could cook as well as they report the news. The “Un-Chefs” included Investigative Reporter Keith King, Morning Anchor JiaoJiao Shen and Meteorologist Kalee Dionne. The Sept. 12 event served as a fundraiser for Newhouse, a domestic violence shelter for women and their children, and was held at Studio 2131, 2131 Washington St., Kansas City, Mo. The night included a catered meal, a chance to sit at the judge’s table and multiple raffles. Shen impressed the judges and took first place with her potstickers and dumplings. Dionne served up macaroni and cheese and King created a chicken parmesan dish. Judges included Kim Rodgers (who won the raffle ticket to sit in the judges seat), Jennifer Maloney, executive chef at Cafe Sebastienne, Katie Van Luchene, executive editor of KC Magazine, and Kimberly Winter Stone, local writer and co-host of “LIVE! From Jasper’s Kitchen.”
