Kansas City, Missouri residents will get trash amnesty following the July 4 holiday – from Monday, July 5 through Saturday, July 10. During this time, residents may set out more than two bags of trash on the curb for free, without buying tags for the extra trash bags. The City does ask, however, that residents do not include any hazardous waste, bulky items or leaf and brush. The City further encourages residents to remember that the city has an unlimited curbside recycling program which can help reduce the amount of trash bags.

Residents may also bring recyclable items, including glass, to recycling centers located at 400 N.W. Barry Road, 5200 E. Red Bridge Road and 4707 Deramus Ave. The centers are open Wednesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
