BREAKING — Just before 6 p.m., on Thursday, March 20, the Kansas City Police Department’s (KCPD) Accident Investigation Section (AIS) dispatched to the 4800 block of E. Ninth St., within the Lykins neighborhood on a reported critical injury, pedestrian involved collision.
Once on the scene, AIS prepared to assist KCPD’s East Patrol Division (EPD). Officers preliminary investigation concluded that the victim was traveling by foot from north to south on Brighton Avenue, when they were struck by a silver SUV that was moving westbound on Ninth Street, according to a release from the KCPD Media Unit, Friday morning.
The pedestrian is currently at a local hospital with life threatening injuries, according to KCPD Media Unit.
