Making sure it’s Thanksgiving for all, Lisa’s. Posse led by Lisa Lightfoot Taylor served up Thanksgiving dinner to some of the areas houseless population at various spots in the city’s urban core.

Taylor, daughter of of Northeast High School grad Dale Lightfoot sponsored the feeding on her own. “Its not Thanksgiving unless we cone down here and do this”, she said.

The effort is an offshoot of the holiday feeding that began at Children’s Memorial Lutheran Church at Independence Ave & Brighton almost twelve years ago.

A man named John, one of the twelve or so people who occupied this camp near Truman Road and Spruce was happy to have a hot home cooked meal. “This is real good”, he said. “Real glad they came by.”

The group plans on feeding Thanksgiving dinner  between sixty and eighty people today.
