KANSAS CITY, Missouri – Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day early with the Snake Saturday Parade in North Kansas City.

The festivities kick-off at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, bringing up to 100,000 people to historic, downtown North Kansas City, making it the largest Irish parade and festival in the area.  According to the event’s website, charities go “all out” designing parade entries to win prize money for their organization. Over the past 31 years, more than a million dollars has been distributed to charities.

The parade begins at 14th and Swift Streets, turning right on Armour Road, then another right on Howell and continuing to 18th street. The theme for the 31th Annual Snake Saturday Parade and Festival is, “Wee The People!”

Snake Saturday begins tonight, Friday evening, with the opening of the carnival area and the Annual Charity Cook-off.  The event continues on Saturday with the addition of food vendors, a free children’s area, and children’s stage and the Parade. For more information, visit http://snakesaturday.com.
