Tom Turner, executive director of the Bishop Sullivan Center, was on hand April 7 at the Kansas City Command Arena Football game to receive a $2,500 donation from the Kansas City Command Foundation. The foundation, originally known as the Helping Hand Foundation, spotlights local charities that do grassroots work in the Kansas City area. The $2,500 donation will be used to fund the “Hit-It-A-Ton” food distribution program, started by Royals First Baseman Billy Butler. Turner is flanked by several youth from Historic Northeast who enjoyed the game Saturday night. Michael Bushnell
