The Kirkland Armour Memorial Chapel, on the grounds inside Elmwood Cemetery Society, is set to receive some much-needed improvements. On Friday, April 19th, members from the Elmwood Society board took sledgehammers in hand during a “groundbreaking” ceremony to mark the removal of an addition, which will be replaced by a new, more compatible addition that will provide ADA restrooms for chapel events.

Funding for the project is being provided by Prince Charitable Trusts, along with local donations, and the contractor selected is ReTouch. The addition is expected to be completed by Labor Day. The historic chapel was completed in 1902.
