Opening a business, much less a restaurant in the middle of a pandemic under less than ideal conditions probably isn’t a bucket list item. But that’s exactly what Toni Bonadonna and her team did in July, 2020 when they opened Scimeca’s Market & Deli on the corner of 16th & Swift in North Kansas City.
One year later, Scimeca’s is celebrating an abundantly successful first year in business with a customer appreciation day on Wednesday September 29th from 5-8pm.
“It’s been amazing,” Bonadonna said, thinking back on the past year. “I’m very blessed by the customer support that we have here and the family support,” she continued. “Tons of people come in from the old neighborhood and talk about the store on Independence Avenue.”
Since opening on July 8th, 2020, the operation has expanded three times to accommodate not only the walk in business but the nationwide shipping business as well.
As part of Wednesday’s anniversary celebration, all grocery items in the store will be 10% off between 5-8pm. Check www.scimecasonline.com for additional information and photos of the anniversary celebration.
