KANSAS CITY, Missouri — Before you start looking for Easter eggs in your home, you might want to check the library and area parks first.

With only a few days until Easter Sunday, groups are planning Easter egg hunts around the Historic Northeast area.

Beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, April 18, the North-East Library, 6000 Wilson Ave., will host an Easter egg hunt along with story time featuring the Easter Bunny. Children will also get the chance to decorate baskets.

After Friday, the Easter Bunny is going to be spend Saturday hopping around the Northeast. At 9 a.m. at Concourse Park, the Scarritt Renaissance Neighborhood Association is hosting an Easter egg hunt for children under 12-years-old. After the kids find the eggs, they’ll also have a chance to take photos with the Easter bunny.

From there, children can hop over to Kessler Park to search for eggs from 10 – 11 a.m. The Pendleton Heights Neighborhood Association will host the hunt for colorful eggs left behind by the Easter bunny. There may also be a visit from the famed rabbit, as well.

Finally, If you’re still in the mood to find some eggs, head over to the Garrison Community Center, 1124 E. Fifth St., between noon and 3 p.m., for face painting, egg decorating, games and, of course, and Easter egg hunt.
