Rosemary (Moretina) DiGirlamo, 63, North Kansas City, Mo., passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb.17, 2011, at NorthCare Hospice House. Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Feb. 22 at St. Gabriel Archangel Catholic Church, 4737 N. Cleveland, Kansas City, Mo. Burial followed in Mount Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ross Cuccia, Chuck Moretina, Charlie Moretina, Charlie Simone, Eric Kirwan and Matt Player. Arrangements are by Passantino Bros Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, Mo.

Visitation was held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Feb. 21 at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, where a prayer service began at 4 p.m. The family requests no flowers.

Rosemary was born Oct. 5, 1947, in Kansas City, Mo. She worked many years as a cosmetologist and recently in food service.

She was preceded in death by a husband, James Horn; father, Charles Moretina; nephews Charles Moretina and Tommy Simone.

Rosemary is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Dominick and Rachelle Cuccia; daughters and son-in-law, Mary Kay DiGirlamo, Rosemarie and Anthony Sola, Elizabeth DiGirlamo, and Angela DiGirlamo; her grandchildren, Antoinette, Ross, Joey, and Johnny Cuccia, and Sophia Rose Sola; mother, Rose Moretina; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Jeanne Moretina, John and Clara Moretina, Joe Moretina and Vivian Ford; sisters and brother-in-law, Edie and Anthony Simone, Nancy DeMarco, Gina Sciara and Andy Mortallaro; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

A special thank you goes out to Melissa Ruttan, Ryan Westhues, Marc Brown and the doctors and staff of NorthCare Hospice and Kansas City Cancer Centers.

Rosemary was an amazing mother, daughter, nani, sister and aunt. She loved being surrounded by family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and taking care of her family.

She was full of life and could light up any room with her smile. Her sense of humor was one of a kind. Her strength and courage were an inspiration to her children. She was always there when anyone needed her, loved unconditionally and truly had a heart of gold. Rosemary will be deeply missed by her family and those who knew her.
