With 100% of Jackson County precincts reporting, the Jackson County Election Board has provided results from the Aug. 6 election. Turnout included 26.4% of registered voters in the county, with 63,831 casting their votes for representatives in county and state positions.
In the race for Missouri State House of Representatives District 19, Republican candidate Karen Spalding ran unopposed and garnered over 8,000 votes. Democratic candidate Wick Thomas edged ahead with 55.6% of votes cast over opponent Patricia Hernandez with 44.4%.
Missouri State Senate District 7, Republican candidate Joey LaSalle (unopposed) garnered 731 votes and will face Democratic candidate Patty Lewis with 1,063 votes over Pat Contreras with 885.
Missouri State Senate District 9, Republican Derron Black (unopposed) received 1,146 votes and will face Democratic candidate Barbara Ann Washington with 2,304 votes over opponent Brandon Ellington with 550 votes.
Missouri State Senate District 11, Republican Joe Nicola took lead over opponents with 6,166 votes over Aaron McMullin with 4,998 and David Martin with 1,517. Unopposed Democratic candidate Robert Sauls received 9,452 votes.
In the race for Jackson County Sheriff, Darryl Forte is seeking reelection and had no opponent. Forte received 26,791 votes.
Four candidates vied for the position of Jackson County Prosecutor. Republican candidate Tracey Chappell ran unopposed and garnered 26,566 votes. Democratic candidate Melesa Johnson received 11,130 votes over John Gromowsky with 9,390 and Stephanie Burton with 8,428.
