If you’ve been saving personal documents you need to shred, check out the June 9 community shred event in the parking lot of the University of Missouri-Kansas City, 5115 Oak St.
The event is sponsored by the Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline, Shred-It and UMKC Police and will be held from 8 a.m. to noon.
By shredding confidential documents, you can protect yourself from identify theft. During the event, old documents will be instantly shredded by a Shred-It high-speed, mobile, cross-shredder. All shredded materials are recycled to help protect the environment. Each vehicle will have a three box/bag limit and volunteers will be available to remove your unwanted documents.
Donations will also be accepted to benefit the Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline, a 501c3 non-profit organization that takes anonymous citizen TIPS to solve crimes in your community.
