Twenty-four photographs lined the walls at Kansas City’s Central Library Oct. 24 and five of them belonged to Northeast resident David Remley.

Remley was among two other photographers commissioned by the Kansas City Parks and Recreation Department to capture Kansas City’s stunning parks and landmarks for the Green Exposures exhibit.

In addition to the commissioned photographers, the parks and recreation department launched a 14-month long contest requesting submissions in three categories: landmarks, monuments and fountains; activities and events; and nature and wildlife.

Winners in each category were also displayed Oct. 24.

Both the parks and recreation department and the William T. Kemper Foundation-Commerce Bank Trustee made the exhibit possible.

The pictures will be on display at the library, 14 W. 10th St., through Jan. 2.

The winning photos and other photo submissions will be used to promote Kansas City’s parks and recreational amenities.

Check back later for Northeast News’ exclusive video interviews with Remley and others involved in the project.
