KANSAS CITY, Missouri — The Northeast ended October with a party and started November on a healthy foot.
The Scarritt Renaissance Neighborhood Association hosted the 22nd annual SCARE-IT Halloween event, welcoming hundreds of children to the neighborhood for a safe and controlled trick-or-treat. There was a haunted house, fire dancers, superheroes, and the KCPD and KCFD. All proceeds raised from the hot chocolate sales will go toward continuing this event for future years to come.
The next day, runners took over Cliff Drive for the 30th annual Cliffhanger Run. Taking place along scenic Cliff Drive, the annual 5K and 8K run was sponsored by the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. This year, nearly 1,000 people particiapated — 955 to be exact. The race’s primary charity is Northeast Neighbor to Neighbor (NNN), a non-profit foundation that provides financial and other support services to the medically underserved residents of the Historic Northeast neighborhoods.
