Northeast residents and art enthusiasts alike — join Northeast Arts KC and Art as Mentorship as they partner to host Chalk Walk and Celebrate Ameri’Kana Music and Arts Festival July 27 at Concourse Park (200 Benton Blvd). Chalk Walk hours will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Ameri’Kana from 1 to 8 p.m.
This marks Chalk Walk’s 17th year of bringing free, family-oriented, entertainment to the community. Traditionally held at the Concourse Fountain — it is a sidewalk chalk drawing and design festival, which is open to the public. With a mission to celebrate culture and diversity within Kansas City and the Northeast in particular — it allows event proceeds to go toward this non-profit organization and its offered programs.
For those interested in reserving a square, Sign up online. Walk-ins will be accepted for sidewalk drawing. Everyone is welcome to participate in this festival — regardless of artistic ability.
