Northeast HELP center’s building may still be under construction, but its website is officially up and running.

“It’s just been an incredible blessing,” HELP Executive Director Michael Seward said of the website. “Our mission is to mobilize resources and support innovative solutions to improve the quality of life of Northeast residents.

“This is a significant milestone that we now have a hub for the community to go to and immediately be able to click on the translation feature.”

HELP, which stands for health, education, labor and public safety, is a non-profit organization that aims to link area residents to vital resources related to health, education, labor and public safety.

HELP’s website, northeasthelp.org, features links to each focus area, a map of Northeast, an online resource guide, community calendar and local news. Website visitors can also learn how to become involved in the community and with HELP.

“We’re incredibly grateful that LINC (Local Investment Commission) put together this wonderful website for us,” Seward said.

LINC developed the website for free and included a translation tool on the website to translate the text into more than 50 languages.

Also featured on the website is HELP’s new logo designed by the Greater Kansas City LISC (Local Initiatives Support Corporation) Multi-colored mosaic tile highlights the edge of the circle that surrounds “Northeast HELP.” The mosaic tile symbolizes both the ethnic diversity in Northeast and the building blocks of a community. The circle represents the “community as a whole.”

“It’s a great tool and I think it’s a website that shows hope and all the wonderful things going on in Northeast,” Seward said.
