Natale Cangelosi, 90, Kansas City, Mo., died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, at North Kansas City Hospital.
The Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. today (Friday) at Holy Family Catholic Church, 919 NE 96th St., Kansas City, Mo, with arrangements by Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, Mo. Entombment followed in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum.
Visitation was held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Feb. 10 at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, Mo., where the Rosary was prayed at 7 p.m.
Natale was born Jan. 3, 1921, in Cefalú, Sicily, to Salvatore and Tecla (Storiale) Cangelosi and came to Kansas City in 1966.
For more than 40 years, he worked at Bel-Art Plastics and was still working there up to the time of his death.
He had a passion for opera and reading maps and enjoyed cooking and gardening. The most important part of his life was his family; his life revolved around his family, who meant everything to him.
Natale was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 61 ½ years, Giuseppa (Piraino) Cangelosi; son, Salvatore Cangelosi; daughter and son-in-law, Tecla and Vincenzo D’Angelo; grandchildren, Natale and Dixilyn Cangelosi, John Gant, Leonarda and Jason Garcia, Gaetano D’Angelo, Giuseppa D’Angelo and Jason Brewer; great-grandchildren, Annina and Jaelyn Cangelosi, Marisa and Andrea Garcia, Alessandra Brewer; extended grandchildren, Bryce and Tyler Brewer; sister, Angelina; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Vincent and Rosaria Piraino, Anna Piraino; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
