KANSAS CITY, Missouri — A Kansas City, Mo., man has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting that took place earlier this year in the Northeast.
According to a press release from Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker, Antwan L. Fayne, 33, has been charged for the death of Jossette Beeks, on May 3, 2015. Fayne is charged with first degree murder, a class A felony; first degree assault, a class B felony; Unlawful Possession of Firearm, a class C felony; and two counts of armed criminal action, both felonies.
According to court records, at the time of the incident, witnesses told police they were sitting on the front porch of a residence along the 800 block of Indiana Avenue when Fayne approached the residence. As he walked toward them he started shooting. Another witness told officers he had heard Fayne threatening the victim and a witness prior to the shooting. The witness stated that both the victim and another person were sitting on porch steps in front of the resident when a man in a black hoodie started shooting at them.
