Kelsey Ainsworth, a University of Missouri sophomore, has joined the Northeast News team as our summer intern.

Ainsworth is majoring in international journalism and minoring in French.

Asked why she’s interested in journalism, Ainsworth said, “I enjoy interacting with the public and writing. It’s a good way to stay involved in what is going on with the world and will hopefully allow me to travel with my job.”

Ainsworth said she wanted to join Northeast News to go beyond her college journalism classes and gain real world journalism experience. During her internship, she hopes to improve her writing and research skills.

Asked if she’d like to add anything else, she said, “Go Mizzou!”
