KANSAS CITY, Missouri — Several Northeast Kansas City residents are without a home following an early morning fire.
At around 4 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, , Kansas City Fire Department crews were called to 2302 Minnie Street, at the intersection of Park Avenue and Minnie Street in the Pendleton Heights neighborhood, for a first floor fire in an apartment building. Battalion Chief James Garrett, public information officer for the KCFD, said six adults and one child were displaced. There were no injuries.
Garrett added the fire started in the entry way of the building and damage is estimated to be around $20,000. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Garrett said the Kansas City Red Cross is assisting the families.
