As Kansas City continues to see economic growth  — including an influx of employment opportunities — in 2024, one Councilman works toward community engagement and giving back to local businesses.

In all “Cash Mob” fashion, Aug. 15, Fourth District-at-Large Councilman Rea gathered Northeast residents and business folk at PH Coffee (2200 Lexington Ave) — following a recent break-in at this location. With a purpose of fostering neighborhood inclusivity, providing financial support and elevating local establishments within the Fourth District — Councilman Rea has arranged over 30 monthly Cash Mob’s across this District since the first of the year.

Organizations including Kansas City University (KCU), the Independence Avenue City Improvement District (CID) and Northeast Kansas City Chamber of Commerce (NEKC) were in attendance Thursday, among others.
