Missouri voters will decide the fate of a Missouri constitutional amendment as well as the future state governor, U.S. senator and other state representatives on Tuesday, Aug. 7.
The proposed constitutional amendment asks voters if the Missouri Constitution should be amended to ensure:
•That the right of Missouri citizens to express their religious beliefs shall not be infringed
•That school children have the right to pray and acknowledge God voluntarily in schools
•That all public schools shall display the Bill of Rights of the United States Constitution
Changes to the constitution would result in little or no costs for state and local government entities.
Historic Northeast voters will cast their votes for state representatives in the 19th and 23rd Districts as well as the 7th District for state senate seats.
