Last Saturday marked the day for the third annual John V. Mesh Memorial Scholarship Sporting Clays shoot at the Powder Creek Shooting Park in Lenexa, KS. Over 175 shooters participated this year, up 20+ participants from last year. A special presentation was made to retired KC Firefighter Mark Mesh, John’s brother, when he was presented with a memorial helmet and the actual hose and nozzle John was using on October 12, 2015 when the building at 2600 Independence Ave. collapsed and killed both John Mesh and Larry Leggio. The sporting clays shoot raises funds for girls to participate in the Missouri Department of Conservation Discover Nature Girls Camp.
