Mary E. (St. John) Ontiveros passed away on May 12, 2011, at NorthCare Hospice House with her family by her bedside. A Memorial visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, Mo.

Mary was born on Nov. 13, 1943, to Charles Edward St. John and Mary Florence St. John, and grew up in the Rosedale area of Kansas City, Kan. She married Daniel Ontiveros Jr. and they purchased a home on Elmwood in the Northeast area of Kansas City, Mo.

Mary was blessed with two children, Anthony Phillip Ontiveros and Rhonda Gutierrez. She was very proud of her children and her grandchildren, Dustin Roberts, Phillip Ontiveros, Domanique Castro, Elise Ontiveros, Anthony Ontiveros Jr., Rocco Ontiveros, and Anthony Gutierrez. She is also survived by one brother, Steven St. John and wife, Vickie; and two sisters, Patricia Reid and Cathy Kaufman and husband, Terry. Her brothers, James St. John and Charles E. St. John, preceded her in death.

Mary was fun-loving and outgoing and enjoyed pool and bowling, as well as just hanging out with her friends. She always had a joke or smart remark for everyone in her path and was fun to be with. She will be missed.

A special thanks to her sister Patricia Reid and her nieces Lisa and Kayla Ross, Gena Metz and Angel Hawkins for helping to make her last years comfortable and at ease.
