BREAKING- Just after 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, The Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) responded to a suspicious activity call, including potential armed carjacking, near 11th Street and Elmwood Avenue within the Lykins neighborhood.
Upon arrival, officers located an individual at the intersection of Ninth Street and Van Brunt Boulevard. An altercation ensued between KCPD and the individual, which resulted in shots fired between both the individual and the officers, according to a release from KCPD Media Unit, Wednesday.
The subject proceeded to flee the scene in a vehicle, which led to an officer-initiated vehicle pursuit. This pursuit concluded at the Lewis and Clark Viaduct and the individual was taken into custody, according to KCPD Media Unit.
No injuries were reported in this incident; This is currently under investigation.
