KANSAS CITY, Missouri – Two years ago Stephan Zweifler and Carl Markus pursued their dream of becoming Innkeepers, opening a Bed and Breakfast in the heart of the Scarritt Point National Register Historic District in Historic Northeast Kansas City. Not caving to the negative media hype that the neighborhood is a dangerous and unfit place for such an enterprise, the couple opened the Inn at 425 on April 14th, 2015. According to owner Stephan Zweifler, the opening coincided with the day the Titanic sank in 1912.
This week, shortly after their one year anniversary and after a banner year with a score of upgrades to their 1888 Queen Anne bed and Breakfast, The Inn at 425 was named the number one Bed and Breakfast in Kansas City by the travel web site tripadvisor.com. The ranking is based on reviews left on the Trip Advisor site from guests who have stayed at the Inn. Out of 56 reviews, the Inn at 425 has a perfect score, ranking it the highest of the twelve B&B’s listed on the site for the Kansas City region.
Markus and Zweifler couldn’t be more pleased. “Were thrilled, and it’s totally unexpected” said Zweifler. “We’re just so incredibly proud to prove that the Historic Northeast community is a wonderful place to do business, with so many fantastic opportunities.”
